Our Dream is to become One of the most successful Racing Team to-date having drivers in all forms of Auto racing such as,
Drifting, Oval, Rally, Road and thats just to start.
Kyoto Motorsport is a group of dedicated racers who compete in a variety of sim racing platforms across various disciplines of driving. Their aim is to cultivate a community of sim racers with the same desire to be on the track in real life application. Team Kyoto looks to help all its participants perfect and improve their driving skills both on the sim and in the real world.
We started as a drifting team born out of a shared passion for the art of precision driving, we were established in the year 2014. Founded by a group of dedicated individuals who lived and breathed the adrenaline-fueled world of drifting, the team quickly gained traction within the global Gran Turismo community.
Over the course of nearly a decade, Team Monji evolved from a handful of enthusiasts to a sprawling community Consisting of multipleplatforms like Xbox, Playstation, PC and Real Life, boasting an impressive membership of 500+ members. This growing family of like-minded individuals was united by their unwavering commitment to mastering the art of drifting, pushing their limits, and defying the boundaries of what was possible on the track.
However, in August of 2023, a significant transformation occurred within the team.
The team Owner and Founder And professional racing driver Alexander Jay Wiener AKA Kyoto | MSR, made the monumental decision to undergo a name rebranding, emerging as "Kyoto Motorsport." This change wasn't made lightly; it was driven by a deep sense of reverence for a historical figure and Family Ancestor, Sakamoto Ryōma.
Sakamoto Ryōma, a prominent figure in Japan's Bakumatsu period during the 19th century, was known for his pioneering spirit and tireless efforts to modernize and unify Japan. His ideals of adaptability, innovation, and progress resonated deeply with the core values of the drifting community. Kyoto Motorsport sought to honor his legacy and carry forward his spirit of innovation.
Under the new banner of Kyoto Motorsport, the team continues to thrive and flourish. The rebranding symbolizes a commitment to evolving and pushing the boundaries of Motorsports while paying homage to a visionary figure in Japanese history. This reinvigorated spirit has fueled our pursuits, and Kyoto Motorsport will continue to leave its mark on the Motorsports world, hoping capturing the hearts of both enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
